Hi, I’m Candace, and I’m a TrueSport ambassador. When I think about what makes a good team a great team, one word comes to mind, accountability. Three areas of accountability include, one, showing up. This means you’re not just going to practice and going through the motions, but showing up, ready to give it your all. You expect your coach and teammates to give a hundred percent, and they expect the same effort from you. You made a commitment to your team, and it is your responsibility to show up for them every single day.
Number two, admitting to your mistakes. You are responsible for what you say and do. Everyone messes up, that’s just life, but what sets people apart is how they respond and react to their faults and failures. You can either blame others for your mistake, or you can own up to your faults and as a result learn from them and become even better. Number three, preparing for success. Preparation is a big part of accountability. If you don’t practice and put in the work and effort at home, you are letting down your teammates and yourself. Be accountable by putting in the time and effort necessary to perform your very best.
