Hi, I’m Cody Miller, and I’m a True Sport Champion. Today, we’re going to talk about shortcuts, and the three traps that you should stay far away from.
The first shortcut to avoid is performance enhancing drugs, or PEDs. There may be a time when you feel like you are being pressured into taking performance enhancing drugs. What you may not know is that PEDs are proven to have serious health risks, with side effects such as stunted growth, acne, increased aggression, balding, and many others.
The second shortcut to avoid is taking dietary supplements. Sometimes companies run ads that are targeted at teenagers just like you. They try to make their products look fresh and cool, but what they don’t tell you is that supplements can contain harmful ingredients that may not even be listed on the label.
The third shortcut to avoid is energy drinks. Similar to dietary supplements, energy drink companies target teenagers in similar ways. Energy drinks are very different from sports drinks. They are loaded with sugar and caffeine, which is the perfect recipe for being sluggish and crashing after a few hours.
If you train hard, eat healthy, and give your body enough rest, you won’t need to take shortcuts to win. Thanks for watching. And remember, the path to success may not be easy, and it definitely doesn’t have any shortcuts, but it is the path you should always choose to take.
